The most adorable metroid ever

His life-long dream is to make it on Cute Overload. I just don't have the heart to tell him it won't happen...

Paper crane

I have a bunch of paper cranes on my entry table; here is one. This one turned out pretty well, so I was thinking I might set up a painting with a bunch of them together or something.

More gouache

I did this one weeks ago but didn't scan it because I felt very "eh" about it. Well, it's not so bad. I'm having trouble getting dark colors and I blame the paint... I never, never like Windsor & Newton paint. My art store didn't have any other options, but I may need to travel a little farther and try an upgrade.

Gouache experiment

Gouache is sort of an opaque watercolor medium. It has some of the benefits of acrylic (opacity) with my favorite benefits of watercolor (rewets, easy to clean up, allows for extreme laziness). I bought a few basic tubes and tried it out. Ignoring poor composition, I kind of like the look of it, and it was easy to work with. I may need to buy a tube of green next. :P

What's this?

I wanted to see how something more realistic would look outlined in ink. Not sure what I ended up with. It's not really bad, just, you know... boring. :P

Butterflies

I painted this months ago when my niece-in-law was born, but only just got to give it to her parents, so I'm posting it now. :)

Griffin

This baby griffin is for my cousin's baby Griffin. :) I think he turned out pretty cute. The secret was drawing the beak really short.
